Imperial Treasure Windows of Hong Kong (TripleOne Somerset)

TripleOne Somerset is just a short distance away from 313@Somserset, one of the most popular shopping destination in the Orchard Road area. The quiet shopping mall houses an interesting mix of restaurants, one of which is Imperial Treasure Windows of Hong Kong.

To ensure that customers have a truly authentic Hong Kong cafe experience, the restaurant has adopted the Hong Kong cafe way of operation. You have to order and make payment before stepping into the restaurant, the menu changes according to different times of the day. You will be given a timer and food is self-collected at collection point when the timer buzzes.
The cutlery are disposable and pre-packed to ensure hygiene. I personally feel that this makes the restaurant feel a little cheapskate, but this is the standard practice in Hong Kong cafes.
Beef Brisket Noodle 柱候牛腩面 combines clear broth with tender chunks of beef  brisket, a popular noodle dish in Hong Kong thanks to its robust flavour.

Pig’s Totter in Red Fermented Beancurd Noodle 南乳猪手面 tastes so good because the pig’s trotters are well-marinated with the rich fermented beancurd.

Wanton Noodle 鲜虾馄饨面 looks plain and boring but the richness of the broth will take you by surprise. Made by boiling prawn shells for hours over high heat, the broth is a little sweet and reminds me of the sea. The prawn wantons are made of chunks of fresh prawns.
Although the ordering system and menu can be a little confusing to Singaporeans who are not used to the Hong Kong cafe system, the high quality of food makes a trip to Imperial Treasure Windows of Hong Kong worthwhile.
