Muthu’s Curry

Muthu’s Curry is one of the South Indian restaurants that has made it very big in Singapore. It’s signature dish, Fish Head Curry, has been featured in numerous publications and is loved by many Singaporeans.
I generally try to stay away from chain restaurants because they are generally over-priced and the service is not very impressive most of the time. However, my father was having a craving for Indian food after watching a video introducing Indian cuisine, so here we are.
We decided not to have their signature dish, Fish Head Curry. Instead, we decided to order a few small dishes.
Since we are in an Indian restaurant, we decided to have Naans. We ordered Garlic Naans and Plain Naans. I have to say, the naans taste great dipped in curry.
Bhindi Masala is ladyfingers with onions and spices. The ladyfingers are cooked a little too long, and I find the spices a little too strong.

The mutton in Curry Mutton is done really well. The meat is firm but not overcooked, it tastes really good with the curry.

Tadka Daal has been voted the favourite among the family. I love the quiet taste, as opposed to the fiery of the spices in the Curry Mutton and Bhindi Masala.

Muthu’s Curry has once again confirmed my generalization about chain restaurants is not far from the truth. The food is over-priced, service is slow and not-unpleasant at best.

I shall give Muthu’s Curry the benefit of doubt. I am not a huge fan of Indian food because my stomach can’t seem to really take the spiciness, but I think I might come back to try the famous Fish Head Curry when I have mustered enough courage.
