4 Fingers (Westgate)

When 4 Fingers first arrived in Singapore, it took Singapore by storm and everyone was talking about it. A few years has passed since then and this fried chicken chain is still going strong with snaking queues outside every outlet. I am curious what it is about this Korean fried chicken chain restaurant that let it sustain its popularity for so long. I decided to find out for myself. 

There are many options on the menu such as Rice Boxes, Seafood, Chicken Delights, Salads and unique Sides such as Kim Chi Coleslaw and Seaweed Red Pepper Skinny Fries. The most popular is definitely the speciality 4 Fingers Crispy Chicken and 4 Fingers Drumsticks. 

You are given your drink, a serviette, a packet of wet tissue and a timer after ordering your meal.  

4 Fingers Drumsticks comes in three flavours: soy garlic, hot and mix. I thought mix means a mixture of soy garlic drumsticks and hot drumsticks, but  mixed is actually a flavour on its own, a mixture of the soy garlic and hot sauce. I’m not complaining although I made a mistake because it is such a delicious mistake. The drumsticks are fried till crispy and “hand-painted” with a sauce that is sweet and with a hint of garlic. The fries, however, are another story altogether. They are dry and shriveled and altogether tasteless. 

All 4 Fingers outlets in Singaore are halal-certified so Muslim friends can enjoy the delicious chicken with peace of mind. What’s more, you don’t even have to queue for hours for them because foodpanda can deliver them right to your doorstep. 

I will definitely be back to try the soy garlic and hot flavours, but they really need to do something about the fries.
