PS. Cafe Raffles City – New Dishes and Desserts

PS. Cafe Raffles Place - Restaurant Front

I have always liked the food at homegrown cafe chain PS. Cafe which opened an outlet at Raffles City. The PS. Cafe Raffles City is so pretty with tall glass ceiling that gives the illusion of being more spacious than it actually is. The black and white stripped awning and relaxed atmosphere contributes to the success of the cafe.

I heard PS. Cafe Raffles City has some new dishes and I am going to check them out.

New Dishes

You can’t go wrong with anything you order from this menu. The new dishes are the ones marked with a star.

PS. Cafe Raffles Place - Cridpy Typhoon Calamari

Crispy Typhoon Calamari [S$22] takes the simple calamari to a whole new level with Szechuan pepper, crispy garlic, fermented black bean, scallion and chilli flakes. It’s a burst of flavors with every bite, especially if you have them in the accompanying lemon chilli dip.

PS. Cafe Raffles Place - Miso Black Cod

It’s amazing how tender the cod is in  Miso Black Cod [S$43], it literally fell apart at the touch of my fork. I like how the accompanying cha soba, air-flown greens, cherry tomatoes, Japanese cucumber, edamame with wafu dressing are cooked with no seasoning bringing out their natural flavors.

PS. Cafe Raffles Place - Red Pesto Rigatoni

Red Pesto Regatoni [S$28] is one of the two pastas exclusive to the Raffles City outlet. The tomato base is a little sour but the vegetables (aubergine, baby spinach, sugar snap,  broccolini, cherry tomato) while the herbed labneh gives the pasta a little creaminess.

PS. Cafe Raffles Place - Seafood Spaghettini Arrabbiata

There is also the newly-added Seafood Spaghettini Arrabbiata [S$35]. There’s lot of seafood (squid, king prawn) tossed in sofrito sauce with erygnii mushroom and harissa so expect this to be a little spicy.

PS. Cafe Raffles Place - Sticky Date Pudding

It’s been a long while since I last had Sticky Date Pudding [S$15] at The Queen & Mangosteen. This is so sinful yet so utterly delicious. The pudding is delightfully sticky, the toffee sauce and scoop of ice-cream makes it complete. It is too heavy for anyone to finish alone, it is perfect for sharing.
