Tanglin Cookhouse has come up with a festive 3-course Christmas Set Menu priced at S$48++ per person.
Appetizer
If you like to start your meal with a hot soup, Borscht Soup with Sour Cream is a good choice. The soup is homey and goes well with the toasted bread.
I liked the smoked duck pieces in the Pepper Crusted Duck & Orange Salad. The accompanying salad with feta cheese, walnuts, dried cranberries and orange vinaigrette is crispy and fresh.
Mains
If you want an English main, go for Roasted Turkey Roulade. By serving turkey in roulade form, it ensures the turkey does not go dry. The onion gravy goes great with the turkey. There is also Yorkshire pudding accompanied by cranberry jam and healthy garden pea, roasted potato and roasted broccoli and carrot.
I personally like the hearty Irish Guinness Braised Cheek. The beef cheek is so tender, it falls apart at the touch of my fork. The accompanying potato mousseline and braised red cabbage lends creaminess and tangy texture to the dish.
Dessert
I highly recommend getting the Warm Christmas Pudding. The fruit cake in a pool of warm toffee sauce and topped with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream just spells Christmas.
The Chocolate Biscoff Tiramisu, on the other hand, is probably one of the worst tiramisu I have had. It is simply too sweet, and the espresso is too strong. If you are looking for a good tiramisu, Fortuna‘s tiramisu is to die-for.
