I noticed Tianfu Sichuan Restaurant 天府川菜 when I was on my way to I’m Kim Korean BBQ & Shabu Shabu the other day. I asked along a few spicy-lover colleagues and we checked out this restaurant together.
This restaurant is located right besides the escalator in Grantral Mall. It’s a little cramped inside the restaurant, the “outside” seats are slightly more spacious, as long as you don’t mind seating next to the escalator.
You can see Tianfu Sichuan Restaurant 天府川菜’s full menu here.
Spicy Cumin Potatoes 孜然味土豆 [S$10/S$15/S$20] is perfect for those who love spicy food. I can definitely taste the cumin, as well as chilli and peppercorns which gives the dish a fiery kick.
Claypot Eggplant with Salted Fish 咸鱼茄子煲 [S$12, S$18, S$24] is technically a Cantonese dish. There is just enough salted fish to give the dish a little saltiness while the hotpot keeps the eggplant sizzling hot.
Sweet & Sour Pork Tenderloin 糖醋里脊 [S$12/S$18/S$24] is one of the most classic of Chinese cuisine. It’s similar to 回锅肉 from dongbei cuisine but come in smaller pieces. The sweet and sour sauce that the pork pieces are coated in makes it so tasty.
Glutinous Rice Balls 醪糟汤圆 [S$3] is one of my favourite Chinese desserts. The combination of chewy glutinous rice balls in sweet fermented rice wine makes this a special dessert.
