Hoshino Hand Drip Coffee (Suntec City)

Hoshino Hand Drip Coffee has created quite a stir with its first outlet at Plaza Singapura, serving up freshly-brewed hand-dripped coffee using premium Arabica roasted coffee beans and puffy soufflé, among other tantalizing treats.
Hoshino Hand Drip Coffee has recently opened a new outlet at the newly- renovated Suntec City Mall and I have been dying to dine there given the proximity to my workplace, but the popular restaurant is so packed everyday, waiting time is at least 10 minutes.

“Hoshino” Spaghetti with Eggplant, Bacon, Shimeji & Sausage is almost identical to the Miam Miam spaghetti and equally as delicious. The spaghetti is served aglio olio style with, tossed with olive oil and the various ingredients for a healthy and fulfilling dish.

“Fuwa-Fuwa” Hoshino Soufflé is famed for the puffy soufflé covering the dish, which has been baked into a beautiful golden colour. Underneath that eggy soufflé top, lies a bed of tomato sauce baked rice infused with cheese, mushroom slices and bacon. While there is nothing I van complain about the taste, I do wish there were more ingredients in the baked rice.

Tomato Cream “Omu” Rice with Shrimp & Mozzarella is one of the dishes I order everytime I am at Hoshino. There’s something about the creamy tomato sauce that is rather addictive. Underneath the layer of fluffy egg, you have delicious fried rice.
Besides specializing in hand-dripped coffee, Hoshino is also famous for their soufflé. Pancake Soufflé Style is actually a cross-breed of pancake and soufflé. You can have it with Maple Syrup, Honey or Brown Sugar Syrup. You can further enchance your soufflé experience by topping up $0.60 for Homemade Whipped Ceam and/or $1.20 for Ice Cream. The pancake has a very soft centre and a slightly tougher exterior. The soft eggy centre goes together perfectly with maple syrup and salted caramel ice-cream.

The menu is not extensive but every dish has been thoughtfully crafted to ensure maximum pleasure. I don’t drink coffee so I can’t comment on Hoshino’s hand-dripped coffee, but the soufflés are definitely worth a try. However, do note that as the soufflés are made fresh upon order, please be prepared to wait for 20 minute for your soufflé.
