Javier’s Rotisserie & Salad Bar is a “Value For Money” concept restaurant by Astons, serving delicious meals in a comfortable and casual setting.
The simple menu is presented on pan-shaped plagues hanging on the wall at the entrance of the restaurant.
The FIL-E-PLATE Salad Bar is one of its kind, offering an exciting array of fresh greens, ready-mix salads, fruits and cooked items. Priced at $7.90 for Small and $13.90 for Big, the salad bar alone is more than enough for a healthy and delicious meal.
The Slow Roasted Chicken is the signature of Javier’s and the fork-tender chicken is freshly prepared and marinated for 24 hours with Javier’s secret recipe before roasting. The marination has done a wonderful job of getting rid of the gamey taste and the meat is tender and juicy.
I was really looking forward to trying their Slow Roasted Striploin because my doctor has said that it is one of the best beef he has had, but I was greatly disappointed. The way the pieces of meat was presented was not at all pleasing to the eye with a thick layer of yellow fat on top of every slice. The meat was leathery hard probably due to undercooking and I gave up after the first piece.
If lamb is your thing, you definitely have to try Javier’s Slow Roasted Lamb Shoulder. The lamb shoulder is well-marinated so the lamb smell is not too pungent, the meat is tender and juicy with a good layer of fat that melts in the mouth. Eaten with the slightly-too-sweet mint sauce, it is just about the best-roasted lamb I have had in Singapore.
Although choice is rather limited at Javier’s Rotisserie & Salad Bar, they make up for it with good quality food. Prices are reasonable and the staff are efficient, which makes this the perfect place to grab a quick lunch or dinner.
