A Buddhist friend recently brought me to eat vegetarian laksa at Kwan Tzi Zhai Vegetarian Cuisine.
The nearest MRT station is Aljunied and you have to walk about 15 minutes to reach the coffeeshop.
You should be able to spot Kwan Tzi Zhai Vegetarian Cuisine 關自齋 right away. I seldom see vegetarian stalls doing so well that it occupies 2 stalls.
The menu consists mainly of different types of fried rice, fried noodles and rice dishes.
But I am here to try their Vegetarian Laksa [S$6]. Aside from the lack of clams, the vegetarian version is just as aromatic as the usual laksa. I asked for non-spicy so the auntie only gave me the clear coconut broth. The dried beancurd soaks up the creamy coconut broth wonderfully.
There are even vegetarian version of Char Kuek Tiao, I am curious how that tastes like.
