There are four Marco Marco outlets in Singapore and I stumbled upon the outlet in Millenia Walk. Marco Marco is a modern Italian restaurant that serves cross-ethnic variations of classic Italian dishes. Marco Marco focuses on three types of food: panini, pasta and pizza.
With eight choices in each of the three categories, there are many choices to choose from.
For something creamy, The Roma is a good choice. Spaghetti cooked with bacon, Parmesan cheese and a raw egg yolk perched on top of the pasta. It is the clean version of carbonara, without the cream sauce.
The Singapore is Marco Marco’s take on one of Singapore’s icon food, the laksa. By cooking lakasa cream sauce with prawn and dry beancurd with linguine, Marco Marco has managed to infuse Italian with laksa. The result is a pasta that brings you the joy of western influences with the cream sauce but at the same time remind you of your roots as a Singaporean with the slight spiciness from the laksa.
Panna Cotta is an Italian dessert is made by blending thick cream, egg white and honey. It does not look very attractive, but it does taste like “cooked cream” which is how it’s supposed to taste like. I don’t know how authentic it is, but it sure tastes good enough to me.
I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu and the Mousse Au Chocolat which looks interesting.
