Morganfield has recently relaunched its popular Weekend Ribs Buffet and I have been invited me to join them in a session of ribs feast. The fall-off-the bone ribs have left a very lasting impression on me when I visited Morganfield (Suntec City) so I was really looking forward to having more of those delicious meats at the Star Vista outlet.
The Star Vista outlet is a 180-seater restaurant decked out in old-fashioned wood decorations complete with wooden tables and hanging lights. The seats along the full-length glass panels give a great view of the vicinity.
Morganfield provides these cute bibs which say “Busy eating, please do not disturb” so that you don’t soil your pretty clothes while eating. How thoughtful.
There are 10 sides to choose from: Corn Bread, Pilaf Rice, Baked Potato, Grilled Corn, Coleslaw, Red Skin Mashed Potato, There’s nothing special about the sides, but these simple foods are just right thing to whet your appetite.
Here comes the star of the buffet: Morganfield’s Sticky Bones. We have Hickory BBQ and Garlic BBQ here. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. Instead of fall-off-the-bone tender meat, the meat is rather tough and I had a hard time swallowing them. The inner portion is pretty much tasteless while the coat of barbecue sauce overpowers everything else.
Morganfield is also having a promotion for their craft beers where you can get a bucket of 4 for just $45. The craft beers are mostly from Oregon and California and they go very well with the ribs. Although there is definitely room for improvement in the control of the grilling and preparation of the barbecue sauce, I can’t deny that at $40 per person for free-flow of ribs and sides, Morganfield’s Weekend Ribs Buffet is definitely a value-for-money buffet that is perfect for families with kids since kids (below 12 years old or 120cm in height) eat for free on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays.
