PODI has taken over the spot previously occupied by Out of The Pan at the basement of Raffles City. PODI stands for Pure Offbeat Delicious Infusions. Let’s go and check out if it lives up to its name.
The menu is complete with all day breakfast, hearty greens, mains, pasta, burgers and flat wraps.
Baked beans, diced sausages, mushrooms onions and tomato sauce are cooked with truffle oil and topped with a sunny side egg. comes with a side of toasted breads. Truffled Eggs is a simple and light meal that you can enjoy any time of the day.
PODI serves all kinds of beverages from coffee, tea, juice and smoothies to beer, cider and wine. I wanted something a little healthier, so I ordered Apple Beetroot Carrot. It is commonly known as ABC in Singapore and it is widely available at any fruit stall. It is twice as expensive here (since this is a restaurant) and it tastes the same as any other ABC I can get outside.
I made a mistake thinking that I can finish a piece of the 3-Layer Carrot Cake by myself. Oh my goodness, it is a huge piece and definitely meant to be shared. Taste-wise, it is perfect. The moist cake is studded with shreds of sweet carrot and walnut chunks, layered and covered by thick and creamy cream cheese.
I am not really sure how the menu fits with the Pure Offbeat Delicious Infusions ideology behind the name of the restaurant because all the items are classic Western fare and the prices are a little steep.
