Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant has been on my “to-visit” list for the longest time but I couldn’t find friends to go with me. I finally got to visit the outlet in UE Square with my colleagues a few weeks ago.
The outlet at UE Square is clean and comfortable with ample wooden tables and padded chairs.
Omizu Buffet
Even though Omizu Buffet (Adult S$62.90++, Child S$49.90++) is the cheapest option of all the buffets available, it offers more than 220 Japanese cuisine to choose from.
Besides sashimi and different types of sushi, there are also steamed dishes, grilled and deep-fried dishes, rice and noodles, mini hotpot and desserts.
We started with some inppinmono (appetizers) – Chuka Wakame (Japanese seaweed), Chuka Zika Sansai (marinated squid), Chuka Asari (marinated clams) and Chuka Idako (marinated baby octopus).
Tofou Moriwase is chilled Japanese tofu served in 3 ways – Kimchi Toufu, Pitan Toufu and Goma Toufu.
Sashimi Moriwase comes with pieces of salmon, tuna, lumbarjack and scallop. The seafood are so fresh, all the sashimi pieces are so thick and succulent.
These are some of the grilled items. Uzura Be-Konb Teriyaki is quail egg wrapped in pork belly and grilled with teriyaki sauce. I am not a fan of quail eggs but my colleagues definitely enjoyed it a lot.
We also had Yaki Tori Tare (chicken skewers), Buta To Garlic (pork skewers with garlic).
There is also Yaki Ebi Be-Kon Bata Yaki, Ebi Miso Yaki and Shake Atama Shioyaki (grilled salmon head).
These Sakoshi Bay Oysters are usually not part of our buffet menu, but they were having a promotion so the oysters are free-flow too! These freshly-shucked oysters are so plump and juicy, they taste so great with a dash of lemon juice and Tabasco sauce.
These Yaki Truffle Baby Half Shell Hotate are so good, we had to get a second serving. I can taste a little of the truffle aroma and the scallop has nice firm texture.
For desserts, there are 3 flavors of Daifuku Mochi – Ichigo (Strawberry), Matcha and Mango.
There is also ice-cream in a variety of flavors such as cookies and cream and double chocolate.
All in all, Shin Minori Japanese Restaurant serves a good Japanese buffet with over 220 quality items at affordable price.
