ComNam Vietnamese Street Eats

If you have ever been to the basement of Raffles City, you will know that it is a food paradise with restaurants catering to every cuisine and taste.
Today we are going to try out ComNam Vietnamese Street Eats, the younger sibling of popular Vietnamese chain NamNam Noodle Bar. ComNam offers diverse Vietnamese dishes from different parts of Vietnam, served with a modern touch.

ComNam calls their side dishes Small Plates. Sriracha is a type of hot sauce that is very common in Vietnamese cuisine. Adding sriracha to the mayonnaise in Crispy Wontons with Sriracha Mayonnaise gives the otherwise oily and boring side dish an extra kick.

Fish Noodle Soup‘s broth is not as flavorful as NamNam Noodle Bar’s Pho Beef Noodle although it is just as clear. The pieces of fish and prawn that comes with the clear broth and flat vermicelli noodles. You will be surprised at how much spiciness the few pieces of small red chilli brings to the bowl.

I was a little worried when I say the word “chili’ in Lemongrass-Chili Chicken Rice with Soft Boiled Egg, but my fears my fear was unfound because the few pieces of red chili serves more as a garnish. Com tam, which means broken rice, is the signature dish at ComNam. Broken rice, being shorter, is better at soaking up sauces. The chicken pieces are well-marinated in a special lemongrass sauce. Mix everything up with the soft-boiled egg and you have yourself a filling meal.

I am not coffee-drinker but I totally enjoyed Vietnamese Coffee with Condensed Milk because the coffee is aromatic and the addition of condensed milk takes away the bitterness of the coffee.
If you are looking for a bowl of simple yet slurp-worthy Vietnamese pho, you should definitely head to NamNam Noodle Bar (Suntec City), but if you are looking for something a little more solid such as rice bowl and banh mi buns, head over to ComNam. With quick and efficient service, ComNam is a great place for a quick lunch or dinner.
