Honeymoon Dessert originated in Hong Kong and it has expanded to more than 300 outlets in Hong Kong, mainland China and Southeast Asia countries such as Singapore and Indonesia.
Double Boiled Milk is a popular Cantonese dessert, which literally means “double skin milk”. It tastes very similar to the Italian dessert Panna Cotta, but it is not as dense. It is smooth and silky and full of the lovely milky taste that I love so much. I could have this all day, every day.
Glutinous Rice Ball in Sesame Paste can only be described as “slightly above average”. I got glutinous rice balls with peanut filling which happens to be my favourite type, but there is nothing special about the glutinous rice balls. They taste the same as the ones from supermarket, I highly doubt they are handmade. The sesame paste is definitely not hand-grinded and it is not fragrant enough.
Mango Pudding is pretty with the restaurant’s name stamped on the top and pieces of mango peeking out from within the pudding, but the flavor is not quite there yet.
The snow skin of Durian Pancake is similar to those of snowskin mooncakes and it looks rather thick from the outside, but it actually very delicate and soft. Filled with cream and durian puree, it is a delightful treat for those who are not used to the pungent smell of durian.
With 7 outlets in major shopping centres across Singapore, serving more than 160 hot and cold desserts, Honeymoon Dessert has something for everyone.
