Hua Yu Wee - Menu 3

This is Hua Yu Wee’s menu. Besides seafood, there are also meat, vegetable, soup and rice/noodle dishes.

Hua Yu Wee is famous for their seafood. There are various lobster, crab, prawn, crayfish, abalone/sea cucumber and fish dishes to choose from.

Hua Yu Wee - Steamed Crab

You can have your crab cooked in different ways – Steamed, Ketchup with Chilli, Black Pepper, Salt and Butter Baked, Deep Fried Butter.

I personally like the simplicity of Steamed Crab [seasonal price] with steamed egg at the base. Steaming brings out the natural sweetness of the crab.

Hua Yu Wee - Shitake Kai Lan

For your daily dose of vegetables, Shitake Kai Lan [Small S$16.05, Medium S$21.40, Large S$26.75] is a good choice. The kai lan is crisp and well-cooked while the shiitake mushrooms are flavorful.

Hua Yu Wee - Lala Hefen

Lala Hefen [Small S$16.10, Medium S$21.40, Large S$26.75] is one of Hua Yu Wee’s signature dish. The hor fun is served in clear lala broth and paired with lala, prawns, baby bok choy and crispy fritters. The lala broth is flavorful while the crispy fritters adds a crunchy texture to the hor fun.

Hua Yu Wee - Yi Fu Noodle with Mushroom

The Yi Fu Noodle with Mushroom [Small S$10.70, Medium S$16.10, Large S$21.40] however, is well-flavored but has not enough ingredients.

Hua Yu Wee - Yam Paste with Ginko Nut

Yam Paste with Ginko Nut [S$4.82] is surprisingly authentic. The yam paste and ginko nut is steamed and served in individual ceramic pots. The yam paste is smooth and creamy with a layer of shallot oil. It is rich and sweet, the perfect dessert to end a great meal.

Hua Yu Wee is a heritage restaurant that serves a tantalizing array of zi char and seafood dishes in an old colonial bungalow.
