A friend recently introduced me to a halal eatery in Perak Road called Love Food Club.
The paint-splashed white walls and wooden tables gives the restaurant a clean look. The ground floor can only accommodate around 20 people, there are more seats on the second floor. Lively pop music livens up the atmosphere in the restaurant.
The menu consists of bites, western delights, asian delights, pizzas, beverages and a section dedicated to bubble teas. You can view the full menu on their website.
Everyone enjoyed the Truffle Fries [S$8.90]. The truffle oil was very aromatic and the heap of shredded pecorino cheese makes the fries feel luxurious.
Tahu Bagedil [S$8.90] is a snack that originated from Indonesia, which is known as perkedel. It is made by stuffing bagedil or begedil (seasoned potato patty) in tofu and deep-frying it till crispy. Love Food Club’s version uses a combination of chicken and beef in its filling. It is crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside.
I happened to meet Nina, the female owner, on the ground floor and she recommended the pizzas which are freshly-baked upon order. Following her recommendation, we ordered a Margherita Pizza [S$17.90] and a Pepperoni Pizza [S$19.90]. The pizzas were served to our table piping-hot. The crust was thin and crispy and the toppings were delicious.
If you want something more filling, you can get one of the mains such as this Ayam Panggang Percik [S$19.90]. It comes with half a spring chicken, turmeric rice, keropok and serunding.
The food portions at Love Food Club are so generous that we didn’t have the stomach to get any bubble tea. There are apparently signature milk teas, fruit juices and blended specialty bubble teas to choose from.
Love Food Club is a casual halal eatery that serves tasty big-portioned food in a clean comfortable environment.
