Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King – One Of The Best Ramen In Singapore

I have long heard of Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King but Tanjong Pagar is not really near my workplace or house, the lazy bones in me make me reluctant to travel all the way just for a bowl of ramen, even if it is supposedly the best ramen in Singapore. I finally have the chance to try the highly-acclaimed ramen since I had to run an errand in the area.
Tonkotsu King is one of the speciality shops open by celebrity chef Keisuke Takeda. Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King, as the name says, specialises in tonkotsu ramen. Located at ground level of Orchid Hotel, this modest restaurant is only able to accommodate up to 20 people, but the pettiness of space gives the restaurant a cosy feel.

Here are the operating hours.
This is the menu. There are only three choices: Tonkotsu Ramen, Black Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and Red Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen.
While you are waiting in the queue, please fill up the Order Form so that you can enjoy your food shortly after you sit down.
Japanese Order Form at the other side.
These are the condiments. There is free-flow of hard-boiled egg and bean sprouts.
This is the free-flow bean sprouts . The bean sprouts are mixed with oil and sesame seeds and they are so tasty.
Fresh sesame seeds for you to grind and add to your ramen as you like.
I like to eat original flavours, so I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen Special (All Toppings). The broth is so thick, I feel like I am literally drinking collagen. The noodles are thin and firm to the bite.
Flavoured Egg would have been better if it had been piping hot and a little less runny, but the taste is well-balanced.
Chasyu is a little lean and could use a little more fats, but still deliciously tender.
Now, this is how you enjoy the free-flow hard-boiled eggs. Peel off the shell and eat it with the milky tonkotsu broth.
Tonkotsu King certainly lives up to its name. Service is quick even though there is NO SERVICE CHARGE and NO GST.  Waiting time can go up to an hour or more on weekends, but it is definitely worth the wait.  I can’t wait to try out Keisuke Takeda’s other 5 speciality restaurants.
