I was in the Downtown area one day and I was feeling hungry so I turned to Burpple for restaurant recommendations. Among all the food places listed on Burpple, Singapore Crawfish Ramen caught my attention.
A little search online reveals that this ramen stall is opened by “Ah Girls Go Army” actress Debra Loi. Not only is Debra an F&B stall owner, she is also a nurse, an actress and Miss Universe Singapore finalist.
Crawfish ramen seems similar to Ramen Keisuke Lobster King, let’s go and find out if it’s any good.
The Ramen
Singapore Crawfish Ramen is located right at the end of Shenton Food Hall.
I ordered the Crawfish Ramen [S$11.90] which comes with crawfish, seaweed, Naruto fishcake, bamboo shoots and ramen noodles imported directly from Japan.
The broth is made by boiling 30 ingredients including crawfish heads over 16 hours. The broth has a rich umami sweetness that makes you just want to keep drinking.
I like that the noodles are firm yet springy which goes will with the rich crustacean broth.I got 3 halves of crawfish in my bowl which is very generous. The crawfish flesh is firm yet tender.
The crawfish are sourced from a local crawfish called Singapore Crawfish, therefore ensuring the cleaniness and sustainability of their crawfish supply.
Besides the signature Crawfish Ramen, there are also Basic Bowl [S$7.90] which does not come with crawfish, Black Pepper Pork Ramen [S$8.90] and Crawfish Ball Ramen [S$10.90].
Conclusion
I probably won’t make another trip just for it but if you happen to be in the Downtown area, it makes for a good lunch or dinner.
