It’s ironic how I visit Bras Basah Complex regularly but I had no idea there is a Korean barbecue restaurant called Ssak3 Korean BBQ & Bistro on the second floor.
It turned out Ssak was originally the Bras Basah branch of the Ssikkek Korean BBQ chain. It was renamed Ssak3 Korean BBQ & Bistro in 2020.
Decor
With television screens showing Korean mukbangs both inside and outlet the restaurant, it’s impossible not to crave for some Korean food when you are here.
I saw many groups of Koreans dining so I believe the food here must be pretty authentic.
The Food
The 90 Minute Unlimited Ssak3 Buffet is available Monday – Thursday for lunch and dinner at S$29.90 for adults and S$19.90 for child (90-120cm).
Unlike buffets like K.Cook Korean BBQ where there are many different meats to choose from, Ssak3 only offers 4 type of meats:
- Duroc Honeycomb Pork Belly
- Beef Short Plate
- Marinated Pork
- Marinated Chicken
I love the honeycomb pork belly which are so thin, they taste absolutely divine when eaten as ssambap. Beef short plate is slightly more chewy, but nevertheless just as delicious. I just have to remember not to order the marinated chicken and pork, they are too sweet for my liking.
The buffet also comes with free-flow banchan (Korean side dishes).
You also get to choose one stew per every 2-3 persons:
- Pork & Kimchi Stew
- Beef Brisket Beanpaste Stew
- Spicy Pork & Soft Tofu Stew
Besides the barbecue buffet, this restaurant also has all the Korean dishes you can think of such as marinated crabs (ganjang gejang) and seasoned raw beef (yukhoe).
