Sen Sen Sushi, the premium sushi restaurant by Don Don Donki, has opened a new outlet in Jurong East.
This new outlet is located on level 3 of JEM, just besides Don Don Donki on the same floor.
Sen Sen Sushi
I thought it is a conveyer belt sushi restaurant like Sushi Express, but it’s actually a bullet train restaurant like Genki Sushi.
You order by scanning the QR code provided and your food is delivered on bullet trains on the track in front of you. You also get a wet a towel and a small packed container of wasabi.
There are regular seasonal items such as this Hokkaido Premium Scallop 3 pieces [S$6.80] which comes in 3 flavors – plain, teriyaki sauce and salt sauce. I recommend eating from the right, from the lightest taste to heaviest taste. These scallops are so plump and sweet, they taste really fresh.
I am a total salmon fan so I got the Salmon Sushi Assortment [S$10.80] where I get a plate of 6 pieces of salmon sushi. Again, I recommend eating from right to left, from plain taste to heaviest taste. Each piece of sushi comes with an extra thick slice of salmon which is really a joy to eat.
The uni used in this Sea Urchin [S$8.80] sushi is so sweet, it is every bit as fresh as the ones I had in Tsujiki Market.
I have always loved Don Don Donki’s baked sweet potato and Baked Sweet Potato with Vanilla Ice Cream [S$5.80] takes it up a notch with caramelized custard cream and vanilla ice-cream. While it looks really good, somehow the sweet potato, custard and vanilla ice-cream doesn’t seem to gel that well.
